Philadelphia's Fairmount Park
Trolley: 1896 - 1946
Fairmount Park trolley rolls
east over Strawberry Mansion Bridge in the last year of trolley service.
Winter months were the only time that trolleys ran through between Belmont &
Parkside Ave. and 33rd & Dauphin.
Running on a 22-1/2 minute headway, two trolleys were enough to provide service
during the off season.
During winter the rest of the closed cars, and the open cars, were stored under
roof at the carbarn in West Park.
Photo date is January 1946.
