Philadelphia's Fairmount Park
Trolley: 1896 - 1946
This 1938 Fairmount Park Transit
Co. schedule shows trolleys scheduled to run every 22-1/2 minutes during winter
months.
Between the end of November and beginning of May, trolleys were through routed
between
the North Philadelphia terminal at 33rd & Dauphin, and the West Philadelphia
terminal at 44th (Belmont Av.) & Parkside Avenue.
Two trolleys were sufficient to operate the winter service.
FPT Company's agreement with the Fairmount Park Commission did not require trolley
service during winter months,
but the company provided winter trolley service anyway, every year until the
last (1946).
